The Story of Life Alliance Kansas
How God Led Preston & Melanie to Start Life Alliance Kansas
We have been passionate about life for a long time.
We began a marketing agency in 2001, and spent years in the trenches, learning what worked and what didn’t when it came to engaging customers for our for-profit clients. Then we began slowly being pulled into the non-profit world, and started taking that knowledge to our mission-driven clients.
In 2014, we dipped our toes into the water with our first pregnancy center client – located here in Kansas. We learned how to craft messaging and use images that would reach the hearts of those we were trying to serve . . . a woman in crisis, facing an unplanned pregnancy.
As we began working more and more with pregnancy centers, we saw the beauty of how different centers fulfilled their mission. We also saw the great need that they had for being closely connected with one another.
And Kansas – with its mix of rural and urban, its vastness, and its unique political climate – didn’t have an alliance for pregnancy centers.
We began praying about what God would have us do. And after years of God clearly closing the door, in 2023, He (in His infinite wisdom) flung the door open and said, “NOW IS THE TIME!” Life Alliance Kansas was born (and we love the significance of using that term for what we are doing and supporting!)
As long-term residents of Kansas (a lifetime, for one of us), we stand with you in complete appall at the fact that our beautiful state has become a “safe haven for abortions.” We know this doesn’t represent who Kansans are. And we vow to work shoulder to shoulder with you to get this state back to a place where the lives of women, children, and men, are valued, protected, supported, and upheld.
Our main tenet is to listen to what Kansas pregnancy centers truly need, and then work tirelessly, with wisdom and excellence, to get them just that.
We are so excited to be a part of this journey and look forward to serving each of our Life Alliance Kansas members! We think you rock!
