Life Alliance Kansas Guiding Verse
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

The Story of Life Alliance Kansas
Life Alliance Kansas began as a conversation—one sparked by a shared vision and a deep conviction.
After the defeat of the Kansas Value Them Both (VTB) constitutional amendment in 2022, a group of pregnancy center directors and others involved in the fight to end abortion, came together to discuss collaborating on marketing efforts. But as they prayed and reflected, they felt the Holy Spirit leading them to do more.
This group had seen the beauty of how different centers across Kansas fulfilled their mission. They also saw the great need that centers had for being closely connected to one another. And Kansas – with its mix of rural and urban, its vastness, and its unique political climate – didn’t have an an easy way for those pregnancy centers to be connected, to grow, and to learn.
Additionally, Kansas’ pro-life landscape had shifted, setting Kansas apart from their neighboring states. This team knew it was time to unite—to create a statewide coalition that could strengthen and support pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) across Kansas.
Early brainstorming meetings with several PRCs confirmed the need for a coordinated, strategic alliance. Other states had alliances to provide support, education, and collaboration to their centers. It was time for Kansas to follow suit.
To help lay the foundation, they sought help from Alliance for Life Missouri and partnered with Life on Belay for startup guidance. Life Alliance Kansas officially launched in November 2023, with their first membership drive taking place in July 2024.
The mission quickly gained momentum. Two Lines (formerly Advice & Aid), Insight, Embrace, and the Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS all contributed seed funding, believing in the impact Life Alliance Kansas could have. Preston & Melanie Bowman stepped up to provide leadership, helping build the framework for the Alliance.
As long-term residents of Kansas, we stand with our centers in complete appall at the fact that our beautiful state has become a “safe haven for abortions.” We know this doesn’t represent who Kansans are. And we vow to work shoulder to shoulder with the centers to get this state back to a place where the lives of women, children, and men, are valued, protected, supported, and upheld.
Our main tenet is to listen to what Kansas pregnancy centers truly need, and then work tirelessly, with wisdom and excellence, to get them just that.
We invite you to join us—whether by supporting this mission or becoming a member. Together, we can build a stronger, more unified pro-life presence in Kansas.
